There are times when disrespect makes me want to respond in kind, to throw back the same energy I receive. But when I pause and really look at the person—the way they carry themselves, the weight they bear, the bitterness in their words—I realize there’s no need.
Life is already teaching them lessons I don’t have to. Their struggles, their frustrations, and the way the world treats them say more than I ever could.
Some battles aren’t worth fighting. Silence isn’t weakness; sometimes, it’s the loudest response. Walking away doesn’t mean letting them win—it means choosing not to be pulled into the same negativity that shaped them. And in that moment, there’s a quiet victory in knowing that while they’re stuck in a cycle of resentment, you’re free from it.
