It hurts and I have to accept that people change

I fell in love with a version of you that only existed at the start of the story,

when everything was new, and exciting, and full of possibility.

your smile was brighter, your laugh was louder, and your eyes sparkled with a fire that seemed to burn just for me.

but as the story unfolded, and the pages turned, i began to realize that the version of you i fell in love with was just a character, a persona, a mask that you wore to hide your true self.

and as the real you began to emerge, i was left feeling confused, and disappointed, and heartbroken, because the version of you i loved was gone, and in its place was someone new, someone different, someone i didn't know.

but even though it hurts, i have to accept that people change, and grow, and evolve, and that the version of you i fell in love with was just a moment in time, a snapshot of who you were, and who you are, and who you will become.
