If one day this heart gets too tired,
Of being taken for granted, wired
To hope for love that’s never real,
And starts to heal from wounds you deal.
If, in time, I find a love so pure,
A loving soul whose touch is sure,
Who saves me from the pain I’ve known,
And gives my heart the strength to grow
Then, don't you dare to place the blame,
For when I left, I wasn’t the same.
I’ll move on, but it won’t be swift,
For healing’s journey is a gift.
I still love myself, my heart I keep,
A treasure meant for one who’ll leap,
Into the depths of all I am,
Not simply for the fleeting glam.
I gave my all, you didn't see,
The value deep inside of me.
But when the tides of love do change,
You’ll never find me, out of range.
I’ll find someone who knows my worth,
Whose love won’t leave me feeling cursed,
And in his arms, I’ll finally know,
A love that lets my true heart show.
So if, one day, I walk away,
Remember, I wasn’t meant to stay.
And know that love, both kind and true,
Will find me, just as I’ll find you.
“When I’m gone, you’ll understand
I was never meant to be your demand.”
