I am traveling on a Journey

Through a long way of Life

I don't know where end of this journey is

"Best friend" isn't just a word. A best friend is someone who's there for you, no matter what. Thick or thin. I can label anyone as a friend. But a best friend..? That's something that needs to be earned. A best friend knows me sometimes more than I know myself. Best friends share tears and laughs. You can trust them with anything and everything. I have a bunch of friends, but only a few that I can count on completely.

Everything is an opportunity in life. If you are happy and comfortable, it is an opportunity for you to recognize the truth and share it. If misery comes your way, make use of that as an opportunity to turn inwards, and become very strong from within, and recognize the truth, the reality of the Universe, i.e., everything is changing, every relation is fleeting.

 All this leads to that one reality, that everything is nothing.

Buddha said, ‘Everything is nothing’, and Adi Shankaracharya said, ‘Everything is one thing’. In one thing, there is love, joy, and in nothing, there is peace.

 So the first step is, everything is nothing, then there is peace, and to top it, everything is one thing, that brings love, joy and celebration; that is Vedanta.

He left her in the middle of the night, the night their son was born. When she heard the news she was devastated.

Yet, she did not complain but her life was over by all means. The only reason for her to live now was her son. She wanted him to grow up to be a man that the world would look up to.

Her friends and relatives came around and asked her to forget about the man who had left her and start a new life again.

They asked her to marry again but she refused. She was young and beautiful and suitors queued up outside her door, but she refused each one of them.

Then one fine day he came back!

He stood in front of her and she could hardly remember him as the man who had left her. "They call you the Buddha now?" She asked him gently.

" I hear they do", he answered in a calm fashion.

" What does it mean?" She further inquiried.

"I think it means the enlightened one, a knower", he informed.

She smiled and then a silence.

"I suppose we have both learned something. Your lessons O Buddha, will make the world richer in spirit, but my lesson will unfortunately remain largely unknown", she reflected deeply...

Having been filmed for a TV show, done food demos, and prepared food for food photography for cookbooks, I can tell you that anything other than baked goods is pretty much always thrown in the trash. Meats and fish are rarely cooked to full “doneness” because they simply look more attractive at a certain under-done point in the cooking process. Dishes often sit out at room temperature or under hot lights for hours at a time. Sometimes non-food items are used to make things look better - e.g. substituting shaving cream for whipped cream because it won’t melt under the lights. You know the photographs you see on cans of soups or stews, where all the vegetables are sticking out of the soup? Does yours ever look like that? No. That’s because the food photographers doctor it up. They put marbles in the bottom of the bowl, pour the soup liquid to cover the marbles, and then put chunks of barely-cooked vegetable on top of the marbles so it looks more colorful and shows above the surface. Baked goods on the other hand are usually fully cooked and safe to eat at room temperature and are usually enjoyed by the crew working on the set.
